Inspired by my class yesterday, I decided to do some yoga this afternoon.
Right.
I let the girls know that I was going to do yoga, and said, "But we're going to do Mommy yoga, not the kids' yoga." E was enthusiastic about the activity for about 3 minutes. K was not enthusiastic at all.
So, what happens when Mommy (tries to) shifts her attention from the girls and the dog to the yoga DVD? I bet you can imagine...
"Let it all go....Enjoy this part," says Eric Shiffmann.
"Yeah. Right, my friend. Not quite able to do that at the moment. I'm responsible for these folks."
Let me give you a picture of the last 45 minutes...
The girls chasing each other, around me and my yoga mat.
K crawling on my back, whenever my belly was on the mat.
K clinging to my leg, as I started Sun Salutations.
The dog licking my face, as I went up into Cobra.
E, asking me to read stories to her, throughout.
K crawling on top of the table, smiling and knowing that I'd come and take her off.
The dog, chewing on the 2nd yoga mat, looking at me and gesturing to play.
The dog, laying on the 2nd yoga mat, when it was vacated by E.
You get the point.
