E asked me, "Why did Angel go up to heaven?"
"Well, she would feel better there. Remember, she couldn't run, or howl, or play here. It's too hard for her to be a dog here."
"Did the vet take her there?"
"He helped her there, yes."
Later, she asked: "How did we all get here?"
"Well, you got here in your Mommy's belly. So did K."
And then, "And, how did you get here?" Really?
"My mommy's belly. And Daddy got here in his mommy's belly."

"Mommy, could you laugh at me?"

E was getting ready to do an Art Project, with glitter and glue and paper. I said, "Maybe you could make a happy birthday card for your cousins. Their birthday is very soon."
"My cousins?"
"Yes, Michael and Makayla."
"No. I want to make a picture for myself. To look at."

This morning, I asked E, "What would you like to do today? Shall we make a plan?"
She looked at me, raised her eyebrows, and then held up her index finger.
"Well, I'd like to watch t.v., remember?"
Touching her second finger: "And, Bear (Baby K) will throw everything on the floor."
Third finger: "And, we can wipe Andy's butt, of course."
(Andy has been wearing an e-collar, and is unable to, um, clean himself thoroughly - shall we say.)
Fourth finger: "We can smell the flowers (in the vase in front of us). And...."
"We can look at Bear's eyes!"

E and I were walking Andy tonight. E wanted to run while we crossed the street. At the other side, she said, "Whew! That's enough running for the day!"
