Touching Moments

On Sunday, Miss E and Mommy shared an outing. I wanted to spend some special time with my big girl and take her to a local school playground. Since becoming purely a Daddy's girl, Miss E was not excited about leaving him behind. However, she is quite generally up for an adventure, especially if it involves the opportunity to swing and to climb.
So we arrived at the playground and were the only people there. E LOVES climbing and spent the first several minutes climbing up the various structures. This was a BIG kids playground (for elementary school kids) and it had several TALL climbing options. I'm pretty sure E was smiling the whole time.
After lots of play, E found a bench and decided to sit on it. I gave her some snack and her drink and sat next to her on the bench. I rested my arm across the top of the bench and we sat pretty much in silence as she first examined and then munched on her snack. Without saying a word, she then lifted my hand from the bench and brought it down, around her body, to her rest on her hip. She wanted to be held. To be cuddled a little bit. By her Mom. I heart just overflowed with love and gratitude. "This is my little girl," I thought to myself, "And I am so lucky to be her Mom." Then Miss E finished her snack, we packed up our stuff, and headed back to the car. Just as it started to rain.
