E: "Building fairy houses. For PRETEND fairies. I would be VERY surprised if REAL fairies lived there."

Riding Free!

Ms. E rode her two-wheeler today, free of training wheels!
She took none of my suggestions (start riding on the grass, I'd hold on to the back of the bike, don't try any turns, yet!) and found her own way: lowering the bike seat so her feet could reach the ground, then pedaling-foot down-pedaling-foot down. She went slow, wiggled back and forth a bit, and kept at it for a few minutes. She never went fast, but she was doing turns almost as easily as pedaling in a straight line.

The best part? Witnessing her pure joy and the "I did it!" grin!!

Friday Afternoon

Me: "Girls, would you like to watch t.v.?"

E: "Would you like us to be distracted for a while?"

Me: "Um, I don't know."

E: "Do you need to do something?"

Me: "No, I don't think so."

E: "Oh, well, then, I guess I would like to be distracted for a while."
